Finding a good job in the UAE are near there

I am a Canadian and professional accountant with 15 year of private experience and am seeking to work in the ME particularly inUAE. Can anyone advise me the best route to find work? I live in Vancouver and so far I have been sending resumes to recruiters which have been ineffective. Should I just go to Dubai and spend a month there and do my job search there?
