US citizen living in France but working for German company

• Complicated situation, not sure what my options are...
  
  My wife and I are both US Citizens. A university in Paris has offered my wife a job to teach. We're moving to Paris for my wife's work. The duration will be 10-12 months. We'll both be issued long term visas and will obtain residency visas when we arrive.
  
  My current US company has an office in Germany. I am quiting my current job and changing status to a contractor. I plan to do contract work for the office in Germany.
  
  What visas and/or work permits are required to live in France and contract to a German company?
