" Justice is the same for all" Discuss

    I) ( yes, justice is the same for all)
Firstly, according to the Declaration of Independence " All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with a certain unalienable rights" and the Pledge of Allegiance "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States and to the Republic for which its stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all". The law were create to protect all men and to punish all crimes. If someone commited an offence, he must be punish in order to avoid the reccurence.
Then, since the French Revolution of 1789, the french motto is: Liberty, Equality, Fraternity; It shows that the will of the revolutionary: create a society where all men profite of the same rights.
( Pouvez vous m'aider à trouver d'autres arguments pour cette première partie svp? je manque d'iidées pour appuyer cette partie)

II) (no, justice isn't the same for all)
Firstly, in USA there is a lot of injustice such as the difference between the number of black men and white men in the death row. For example, a black left-wing militant was accused for the murder of a white policeman, who is a member of extreme-right.
It's the journalist Mumia Abu Jamal's case. The concern unrolls in Philadelphia where the police's corruption has a public notoriety. Mumia was convicted since 1982 and he's waiting for his execution in the death row. He was judge without any proof.
This case is a case among other ( ce cas est un cas parmi tant d'autres). It reflects the situation of the black americans, who endure discrimination. Gerald Kogan, the former chief justiceof the Florida Supreme Court say: " It's frightening when you consider the number of people that we know were innocent of the crimes of which they were convicted".
Then, in USA there is a difference between the states. For a same crime, we risk death penalty in Texas but in Minnesota there isn't death penalty so we risk only jail.So the declaration of Independence is wrong. It says that all men are created equal. It's theoretically true but it's in practice false!
Sam Cayhall, in the Chamber, which was written by John Grisham, was convicted for the murder of two children. He lives in MIssissippi. So he is waiting for his execution in the death row. If he was living in Minnesota he can't be condemned to the capital punishment.
Finally, the social difference is the origin of delinquency's rise. For example, in USA, a lot of black american live in ghettos such as in Harlem, in New York where the higiene conditions are very poor.
The black american are segregate since a lot of centurys. They endured slavery...
On America's highways, police stop drivers based on their skin color rather than for the way they are driving. For example, in Florida 80% of those stopped and searched were black and Hispanic, while they constituted only 5% of all drivers. These humiliating and illegal searches are violations of the Constitution and must be fought.

On the whole, we can say that the quotation " justice is the same for all" is widely wrong.

I was born in the U.S.A.

I was born in the U.S.A. and am of Spanish ancestry. Despite being an American of 42 years and highly intelligent Speaking no less than four languages,I can assure you the average American who identifies himself as distinguisheable from so called ethnic minorities in the U.S.A. is a pathetic socially ignorant organism. Often whining about this that or the other related to human interaction abroad. Truth be told especially to those who do not live here in the U.S.A. that these very same individuals discriminate and shun others of "apparent" diferent social identities often living very insulated lives inside little "racial" cliques here in the U.S.A. Id venture to say at least 90 percent of these "Americans" are nothing less than ugly nepotistic racist types that huddle in their circles becuase in doing so they feel there is an advantage of priviledge that the other less fortunate by virtue of surname or color do not enjoy. My advice.See an American abroad give him what he deserves.
